We love a grill that’s versatile, not too expensive, and will last for many summer cookouts to come. So, I wanted to make sure I did some research before we bought one.

The Weber 741001 Original Kettle 22-Inch Charcoal Grill has been ranked the top of 2019. It’s easy to clean, easy to assemble, durable, and renowned for its performance and its price point. If you begin researching great charcoal grills, this will probably be one of the first results. And the best part is that it’s only $109 on Amazon.
However, there are still so many grills to choose from. If you aren’t completely sold on the Weber 741001 Original Kettle 22-Inch Charcoal Grill, check out some of the other great options currently on the market. Depending on what you’re looking for, another grill with a different specialty might be a better fit for you.

The Best Places To Find a Charcoal Grill
Once I decided on my grill, I knew that I was only partially done shopping. While I now knew what I was looking for, I still didn’t know the best place to buy from or how much prices could differ from store to store. I wanted to look several places, so I knew for sure that I was getting the best price.
The best thing about shopping for charcoal grill is that so many stores sell them. Unfortunately, that’s also the worst part about shopping for a grill – there are so many options to choose from! Fortunately, because we’ve already looked at the best grills on the market, we’ve narrowed down the playing field quite a bit.
To determine where you should find a charcoal grill, you’ll need to pay attention to a combination of general prices, selection, and quality. Walmart might have great prices, but if it doesn’t sell the grill you want, that doesn’t matter. To demonstrate how I like to shop for grills, I’m going to show you the process of shopping for a Weber 741001.
In general, here are the steps to grill shopping:
- Research and choose a favorite grill
- Search for the grill online
- Make a list of the stores at which the grill is sold
It may also be helpful to make a short list of the other grills you’re interested in, even if they’re not your top pick.
This is because grills can be expensive, and if you aren’t finding a great price, you may want to switch to another option. Once you’ve done your research, write down the names and get started.
When I searched the Weber 741001 online, I got several results, including:

- Home Depot
- Lowes
- Walmart
- Ebay
There were so many stores selling the grill I wanted, so I knew I should be strategic about choosing which store I wanted to buy from. Because I already knew what I wanted, I mostly just need to pay attention to prices. I wanted to make sure I wasn’t overpaying for the grill I wanted.
I went to every store website, and wrote down how much the grill cost. I was surprised by how much the prices varied – you would think they’d be similar, but that wasn’t the case. That’s why this step is very important – if you assume all prices will be close, you may end being overcharged.
I noticed that the grill was $109 on the Weber store website, so I knew I probably shouldn’t pay much more than that for the grill. I didn’t find better prices at the other stores, so I ended up sticking with Amazon.
However, I also could have bought from the store website. I wouldn’t have known that if I hadn’t done my research!
That was my process, but it will be different for different grills.
